DREAMER

NOTE FROM THE WRITER

As writer and director of Dreamer, I wanted to create a different but, unique spin to a story that every viewer can relate to because everyone has people they care about who suffer through the same challenges.

I wanted to do a script on Figure Skating because it is a beautiful and physically hard sport. This sport is looked over and does not receive recognition like other sports. I also wanted to show the supportive side of this sport, not your common, I'm better than you, and I'm going to take your spot-type film. This script was inspired by watching my daughter at practice cheering on Rylie when she would pop her jumps and become frustrated and BAM I found my story.

Self-doubt can define as a state of uncertainty about the truth of practically anything. It could be about a bad experience you had, thoughts, emotions, opinions, decisions, self-views, or any truth you hold in your mind. You have a sense that you are not stable which will eventually scare you out of what you once believed you could do, and it starts to become harder to achieve and that is where you begin to mess up on things. It is also a form of psychological and emotional trauma. I want to touch people with Dreamer.

I hope this film will be entertaining, and inspiring to others, also to help others believe in themselves. I want this film to leave the audience room for interpretation and inner reflection on what it means to believe in themselves and not to give up on a dream. My message for this film is that no matter how hard the challenge is or how big the mountain is to climb if you keep at it and work hard towards not giving up. That big dream you have will become a reality. The strongest opponent to face is yourself, and to win over your biggest obstacle of doubt will always be YOU and only YOU.
